I am at the point lately where with every mommy/daddy/whatever blog I read, I am bored almost as soon as the page loads. Can anybody recommend some new blogs to read and enjoy? Or at least a few good hate reads?

From all mommy blogs out there, I found E Tells Tales the most enjoyable. First I had some prejudice cause she's my age and she's married to an old guy, but now I just found it adorable. She is a writer so her post are very well written and she is so funny and relax about parenting and life. And she's quite honest and shares a lot, cause all of her husbands familly and friends, neighbors etc. are too old and small town mentality so they don't read blogs. Apparently I'm in love with her Laugh
But I just think she is on the opposite side from all this twee mommy blogers.

Definitely one of my SOMIs is Amalah, I really like her blog/writing style. In the wider realm I suppose it depends on what you define as mommyblogs – I do like finslippy, though she's probably not squarely in that category.

I love Petite Mandoo (petitemandoo.xanga.com). She's a hilarious writer, and her kids are SUPER cute! She's a daily read for me.

I love Rage Against the Minivan – sometimes I worry that she posts way too many pics of her kids, but they're so cute that I'm a hypocrite and don't care.

I used to really like Amalah but so many of her posts lately are OMG DRAMA CRAZINESS OVER 1 LITTLE THING BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH that I find myself skimming over a lot of them.

That so geniusly sums up the problem with Amalah right now.

I read this DC area messageboard and last year or the year before there was a, like, 12 page long thread where people hated on her pretty harshly (even by GOMI standards), and I think it might have affected her because there was a dramatic shift in tone after that. "OUR LIFE IS SO CRAZY and QUIRKY BUT IT IS ALL SO AWESOME TOO!!!! SUCK ON MY AWESOME, HATERS." I miss the way it was before it felt like she had something to prove.

Just spent my first hour at work reading the blogs suggested so far, thanks guys! Especially loving E Tells Tales.

I know, right?! It's the same reason why I stopped reading Dooce, like, 2 years ago – the funny snarky stuff just devolved into boring writing that was punctuated by CAPITAL LETTERS ALL THE TIME SO IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING CRAZY IS HAPPENING.

This isn't really a 'mommy blog' and it hasn't been updated in about a month, but this is a pretty entertaining read:

I like All and Sundry (http://www.sundrymourning.com/), because she is hilarious and insightful and low drama.

I think Che and Fidel and also Rummey Bears are awesome. Both very low key and great pics. Also, Tales of Me and the Husband is a great family and has a good love story behind it.

I don't know if this counts as a mommy blog (it's more a humor blog) but I absolutely LOVE Crappy Pictures http://crappypictures.com/ – it's an illustrated blog on parenting and Amber is just hilarious. She recently truncated her feed though, which normally would warrant an unsubscribe from me, but I love her blog too much to let that bother me.

I find looking at picture after picture of some online stranger's kid kind of weird, so I don't follow too many traditional mommy blogs.

You're talking about DCUM aren't you? I read it too. You want to talk about neurotic bidges!

Yes! I am totally talking about DCUM. Trolling that shit was my favorite pastime when I was on bedrest last year. I had to stop reading, though, because it was depressing to me that I could be interacting with those bizzies at playgroup and stuff without even knowing it.
