Project Babies Thinks It’s Appropriate to Discuss Layoffs On Twitter

Project Babies’ Kristin, captain of industry, has been spewing hot, fiery conservative rage all over Twitter since last night. One part that really stood out was this:

First off, what if employees of Trisha Hope’s company read her timeline? Is that really the best way to announce layoffs? Also, the way Kristin’s tweet is worded she makes it seem as if employees who support health care reform are the ones she and her husband will fire. Even if that’s not the case, it just seems flippant and incredibly gross to talk about firing employees in a forum that your employees can easily read.

Note: Project Babies has locked her Twitter timeline, so don’t bother trying to look at it right now. Oh well, we’ll always have the screenshots.

This almost sounds like they are retaliating against employees who voted for Obama. And that is very illegal.

    • avatar MissAnthropy

No it’s not (depending on the state).

      Also, this:

    • Its legal to hire for any reason except for race, gender and a couple of other things. Political beliefs are not a protected class though.

HOWEVER! In the case of that Vega Casino owner that fired 22 people, those employees may have a case since he implied he fired Latinos based on their voting Obama. They don’t have a case because of how they voted but they do have a case if everyone fired is the same race.

And I really how some civil rights group manages to track that company down and file suit.

  2. avatar brooklynmichelle

Does anyone know this chick’s real name / her husband’s company’s name? I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to send this screenshot to her husband’s employees somehow. OR, at the very least, the Better Biz Bureau.

    • avatar toomanycats

      Cool your mustangs, baby.

      • avatar Miss Noir

        For real.

      • avatar brooklynmichelle

I always think it’s bizarre when people on GOMI spit vitriol against some idiot and then decide that someone takes it TOO far. Seriously? Cool your mustangs? We’ve spend almost 500 comments complaining about these women, I don’t think it’s too much to report someone for threatening to terminate employees based on their political affiliation.

        • avatar toomanycats

If your conscience demands you make some kind of report – hell, whatever floats your little boat. But asking other hams to dox a blogger for you, so you can trigger a witch hunt and bask in its reflected glory? Darl, that’s just as tacky as it comes.

      • avatar granola scam

I’m stealing this phrase for use in my real life.

  3. avatar Mtclaire

You guys, she just posted that she is ending her blog to devote her time to Jesus and orphans….maybe this last controversy pushed her hubby to his limits? Poor orphans.

    • avatar monkeyduck

      Orphans? They’re takers, not producers.

    • avatar Colorblocked Moonshiner

good riddance. she’ll probably be back in a month or two.

    • avatar Snarkette

What do we think the chances are that she actually ends up doing any charity work at all? The only thing she will be doing differently is not posting pictures of her homely children on the internets.

  4. avatar Nathan Belomy

What stupid business owners. If fired for that reason, they voted, they are entitled to a lawsuit against their employer. Technically, I believe you could sue those business owners for even saying that, directly to employees. At least in California, we are humane and don’t allow idiots to do things like that. I’d leave the company, if my manager or CEO was that stupid, more likely won’t have worked at such a company, that had such stupid idiots running it in the first place.

  5. avatar Erin

Would someone explain to me how this racist idiot at Vega Casini can prove who his ‘Hispanic’ employees voted for?

  6. avatar Mountie

She TOTALLY got grounded by her husband and, predictably, blamed it on Satan. She’s a loon.

    • avatar So Belle

I have no idea what Went Down but I would bet you are right.

  7. avatar hor devours

Trisha Hope, if you’re somehow reading this, your last name and company make me think of Obama’s campaign slogan.

You might want to change “Hope” to “Sore Loser” to avoid any confusion.

  8. avatar So Belle

Please don’t think Kristin is a typical well off or middle class southern woman. I don’t run with the Little League crowd and I live in a house in a really old neighborhood with 2-3000 sq foot houses. No McMansions with loads of wasted space. I have lots of interesting friends. We all vote Democratic- did you SEE how close the vote was in North Carolina? She is a crazy snobbish bitch and would be no matter where she lived

  9. avatar DontCallMeSushi

I think this is the Kristin/Project Baby’s video blog.

  10. avatar Veronica

Sadly, this blog has turned into a far left hang-out, which is no better than the blurbodoocery. This chick shouldn’t have posted what she did on twitter but you’re really attacking her for her politics. Given the economy, I’d think you’d want to appeal to readers, not turn them away because you are biased.

    • avatar Super Nintendo Chalmers

“Given the economy, I’d think you’d want to appeal to readers, not turn them away because you are biased.”

You do realize that readers are the people who are commenting, right?

      • avatar Veronica

“You do realize that readers are the people who are commenting, right?”

Yes and I’m one of those readers. I should have said, “I’d think you’d want to KEEP your readers, in this declining economy.”

Perhaps Alice isn’t interested in keeping all of her readers. I expect to be called racist at any moment, by the way.

        • avatar Super Nintendo Chalmers

First and foremost, Alice didn’t write this post, I did. And I wasn’t making some political point, I was saying that it’s gross to talk about firing employees on a public Twitter timeline where they can easily read it. Also, it is not and never has been GOMI’s job to provide fair and balanced political analysis. If there aren’t enough Republicans here for you then may I suggest Fox News? You’ll be amongst your kind there.

          • avatar Veronica

Alice owns this site so she must have approved. GOMI doesn’t have a job to do anything and I predict that it will tank along with many other divisive blogs. “Amongst my kind” being pretty divisive and representative of the kind of country that our president has created.

I noticed that you don’t have the balls to reply to the AFLCIO comment below. Just pick on a small business that doesn’t agree with your politics.

Also, I’m a democrat. But I still predict that this blog will tank along with the economy. When you tell your readers to stick to their own kind, you show your other readers what you’re made of.

    • avatar Say Rah

I don’t think GOMI has gone “left wing” as much as this post has. Admittedly, I’m left wing so I’ve chimed in, but there are plenty of posts where I can’t relate and have nothing meaningful to add in the comments.

  11. avatar Veronica

Oh, just one more thing. I don’t know what kind of rock you people have been living under but you must realize that unions demand that their members vote democrat, among other organizations. Where I live, suburbs of DC, people get fired every day because of their politics. I just find it odd that you’re demonizing this one woman. Also, I’m guessing that they’re laying off 10 employees because there’s a cutoff in ObamaCare that has to do with a company having more than 50 full-time-employees. But, like I said before, you’re attacking her because she’s a conservative and because she’s white. You won’t pick on these big bullies because they share your politics, even though they are corrupt and exploit their workers:

    • avatar Veronica

Last thing, many unions are exempt from ObamaCare. So the AFLCIO’s blatant voter intimidation and bias doesn’t even give all of their members the benefits of ObamaCare but they have to fund it with their taxes anyway.

But let’s pick on one small business owner who’s probably barely hanging on, not because of bad business practices but because of the economy.

If you look at who’s laying off right now, they are mostly in blue states, most companies being Obama supporters. Laying off because economy sucks and getting worse.

    • avatar sowhatimbutter

LOL. Neither of these women have 50+ employees.

Publicly declaring that homosexuality is a choice and voting to revoke the rights of humans who unfortunately occupy the same state as you make you fair game for getting “picked on” in my book.

  12. avatar Respect privacy and lies OH MY

I’m surprised she didn’t blame SATAN.

  13. avatar I'd Rather Be Sleeping

IT’S BECAUSE SHE’S SO PERSECUTED!! When will people stop persecuting poor, downtrodden, white Christians??

  14. avatar Harry Dorsch

You idiots who are lalying off people because are so f in stupid. All you have ever said is because these people (your employees) didn’t agree with your politics you are going to punish them. What a bunch of shitheads. you are all unAmerican.

  15. avatar Marie

    Too Funny!

  16. avatar brooklynmichelle

To be clear, I’m not looking to incite an internet riot on this site and I’m certainly not expecting to “gather villagers” for some sort of witchhunt via GOMI. Jiminy cricket, ladies. Calm down. Both of these women are free to do whatever they’d like with their employees and I certainly don’t plan on using the collective group pitchforks you mention to interfere. However, if I’d seen this sort of thing going on offline, I might still be motivated to report it simply because it’s wrong. Not to bask in the glory of having done it. So, calm down and rest assured that my reaction is not a result of getting caught up in this site. Wrong is wrong. But, again, I’m not looking for you guys to stand behind me. Darls.
