she does seem to have alot of friends right away.. but she seems like such a sweet girl im not surprised. seems like she is constantly going to dinner parties/ and having people over or seeing other people.  or maybe im just anti social and fat and lazy so in comparison to me she seems super popular :)

Not to overgeneralize, but I grew up in a city with a large Mormon population and I think their church totally embraces new congregants (if that's what they call them). She and Billy probably walked right into the new marrieds or new parents class, and so they have a lot in common with the others. When I was a teen, I was invited to a dance at the Mormon church one Friday. I had the MOST FUN EVER, seriously. They had a horse trailer there, and if you weren't dancing, you got put in the trailer until someone came over and asked you to dance. So it was totally non-pressured. It was OK to ask the totally hot guy to dance because you both didn't want to be put in the horse trailer.

I may not agree with their doctrine, but it is my opinion that they are very friendly people. They didn't try to "witness" to me, either.

A friend at church (this is ironic, kinda) was talking about how there are many Mormon families moving into her neighborhood, and how all the fathers are professionals – lawyers, doctors, etc. And they tend to have bigger families, their kids do very well in school, etc. I mentioned HRG because I was saying they have such a sense of community within the Mormon church that it's just THERE. You walk into a church and you belong. There's no doubt in my mind that Janae and Billy walked into the ward one Sunday and BOOM insta-friends. And wards are divided geographically, so they all live fairly close.

TOTALLY different than Christianity with its million different denominations, churches, and communities. I mean, MY church is cool (12 adults), but man… it does seem tempting. You know, beyond the whole Joseph Smith thing.

As for birth control and consequences – I don't think "consequences" is a great word to use, but side effects would be. I started birth control when I got married and it has turned me into someone who cries over miscommunication. Ugh. Can't wait to get off it.

I've got a Mormon friend and when she moved to a new city she instantly had a million new friends because of the church.

It almost makes me want to convert ;)

Me too!  Having relocated twice for work, I know it's really hard to meet people in a new city.  I have to give the Mormons credit, that's a huge part of their church doctrine and they do it well.

I think it's INSANE that she ran a half marathon in 1:31.  It hasn't even been 2 months post-delivery!!  Goodness…if she doesn't get injured again I'll be really surprised!

Based off times on her race PR page, this is her fastest half yet (by about a minute). I'm a big Janae fan, and I've never had a kid, so I know nothing about post-pregnancy recovery times, but a PR less than 2 months after delivery is crazy, imo.

San Jose is one of the flattest courses in America. A number of records have been set there. Not saying it makes it okay but it is a much easier course.

Proof she lies/kids about how much she eats – she got an 8lb chocolate egg in the mail today:

"For dinner we had leftover macaroni and cheese and 1/4th of the above egg of happiness while watching the XFactor."

Really, so you and Billy each ate 1 lb of chocolate????  I highly doubt it.  She overexaggerates EVERYTHING.  And she said she isn't going to share it.  Expect a post within the next day or 2 about her sharing her chocolate!

^ I get you're irritated about the over-exaggerating but her saying she wasn't sharing was clearly a joke/sarcasm making fun of the "nutritional info" that says she would make 6 friends by having it.

I laughed so hard at the nutritional info.

PS. Epic fail. My first incorrect math problem. :(

EDIT: Did that shoe company make that egg just for her, or is that something they do?

Oh, I get that…but her saying her and billy ate 1/4 of it is just stupid.

So far, Megz and Monica have gotten the egg. someone else commented that Desiree Davila did as well (?!?) so this is a Brooks sponsored thingy.

Totally agree.

Who would want to eat an egg that came with a pair of chemical-laden shoes encased in it? Ew. It just seems so strange.

I also can't relate to just another Mormon whose sole purpose in life seems to be to pop out babies and worship her husband.

Really dude, did you just say that? Over-generalizations based on someone's religion…it's just ignorant and shallow.  She's not even preaching her faith, or has even said anything like that…let that part of her personal life be.

Just like some people don't get the love, I don't get the hate.  I don't know, like weebo12 said above, she just seems genuine. I don't think she is disordered – I have never gotten that vibe.  I find her down to earth even with the hyperbole and rainbows.  Haha seems contradictory, but I think she is aware of how over the top she can be and jokes with herself about it.  I'm not saying her blog is a must-read, but it's not so bad either.

Oh hermana- STFU. The Mormon religion is QUITE misogynistic. To put it mildly. Do some research before you flip out PC style. HRG reminds me of a lot of mormon chicks I grew up with- wildly positive and chipper when the company was present– then when my parents left me at the sleepover… er, not quite so Mary sunshine then. There is some weird front there- it is appealing on some level, but I don't buy it. It's fake.

That's actually incorrect as well as ignorant. There's also no need to be such an ass about it. STFU? Really? Have some tact.

The generalizations being thrown around about moromons are pretty off putting.

The one thing I give the mormons big props for is their family values. It's nice to see teenagers that are well behaved and modest. Instead of the skanky/sullen ones that are much more common now.

Wow I sound old.

I totally agree. If only we could bring their social views up to date. But even that, it's not much of an issue for me because I've never been pressed by a Mormon to join their church and they've always politely answered my questions about the religion.
