I don't know; I guess it only bothers me when people who are well off blog about all the crap they buy or wear or "recommend" that is completely unrelatable to my life. I definitely agree with a previous poster that she isn't living "the hard life" and is blooming from fertile soil, but I can relate to some of her emotions and experiences (negative and positive) even though we don't live in the same world. I don't have any reason to defend her, just sharing my opinion about why I click in and read and wouldn't want her to GOMI.

I like her, her birth stories are very moving and her photographs are beautiful. I like that she constantly reinforces that she takes pictures of the beautiful moments,  but that her life isn't perfect.

You are SO right. Her beautifully imperfect life would be perfect if only she got a Shetland pony versus the minatures she got for her daughter's birthday party. Such a bummer they couldn't afford Shetland.

'The fuck? Really? I fucking hate the jealousy and animosity toward bloggers who happen to have a little bit of money. Should she just start feeding her kids gruel and dressing them in scraps from the Goodwill? Just because someone has money doesn't mean they aren't nice people or cognizant of how lucky they are. If anything, Kelle seems to recognize this more than a lot of the other bloggers discussed here.

FWIW, I don't even think she's rich, or if she is, it wasn't until recently with this book stuff. Her husband didn't work for a LONG time and from what it appeared, they were living off the blog and possibly a book advance. He recently got a new job and started working again and her book is selling so there's definitely money coming in, but I never got the impression they were rich. They live in a decent (not huge) house but they've got 4 kids to support and most of her kids' clothes and the jewelry and crap she wears comes from etsy sponsors. I dislike a lot of stuff about her and her blog and her whole schtick, but if she DID have a lot of money, that wouldn't be one of the reasons I didn't like her. I agree that's not a good enough reason to dislike someone; I actually feel like a lot of the Emphasis Added animosity comes from her just having money, which does seem unfair, since she and her husband have good jobs and seem to work really hard. I can't dislike people just because they have money. But, like I said, though there might be good money coming in now, I don't think the Hamptons were or are "rich."

Hey, no need to drop the F-bomb. You obviously didn't get my tongue-in-cheek. It's not jealousy or animosity for those who have money. (A lot of money, in this case.) You obviously missed my agreement w/ NieNie and Mitt Romney's ability to wear the same tie everywhere. I don't link or dislike based on income.

It's the whole spending for the sake of preciousness that is super annoying. Seriously.

KH is a SOMI for me but I just had to post this pic from her recent camping trip. Because nothing says roughing it in the woods like red lipstick, Pocahontas pigtails, and a filmy white top? She looks great but why go to the effort if you're just camping out? I don't get it but it was so picture-perfect blogland that I had to share.

Nella is cute as a button, as usual.

They live in Naples, in what looks to be the nice area of Naples, which takes a lot of money. It's a rich town full of rich retirees and golfers, some of my relatives among them. I've visited many times and the disparity between rich and poor is staggering.

I really liked her blog when I first found it and I had a lot of new marriage hormones going on, now I read it and there's something that just rubs me the wrong way.  Maybe it's jealousy, but otherwise it seems like her life is overly, annoyingly perfect.  Also the whole rich SAHM thing, as I could never do the SAHM thing (I love my job too much, plus why am I in grad school then).

Well, the DS community needs more people out there to educate about down syndrome.   With so many people that abort just because their child has down syndrome (upwards of 90%), the community needs more awareness/representation so people know that getting that news is not terrible and life is actually quite great for families.  For that reason, she can SOMI.

Are you kidding me?? There are countless blogs educating people about Ds and nearly every single one is more real, informative and relatable than KH. I have a blog and a child with Ds, I can certainly recommend some Ds related blogs for you if you can't figure out how Google works.

And just to clarify, I am not pimping my own blog. My child with Ds is nearly nine and I rarely discuss her or Down syndrome. I prefer to NOT exploit my child or her diagnosis.
