Does it bother anyone that she ALWAYS does step-by-step pictures for her recipes, and they're always measured differently than in the recipe?

I'm assuming when she makes something, she cuts the recipe so it only makes enough for one or two, but why post pictures of every step for every single recipe? It confuses me when she writes "now add 1/2 cup breadcrumbs" when there's clearly 1/4 cup at most being added in the picture. It also bugs me how she writes instructions below the photos and then writes out the recipe again later on. Do one or the other.

Also, minor thing, but does anyone notice how she always burns her garlic? It makes me cringe because it ruins the flavor and it's pretty basic cooking knowledge.

I like her blog.  I think the photos are gorgeous; never looked closely enough to see any discrepancies.  Never made one of her recipes but I think I will try that garlic chicken stuff soon.

She is one of the only food blogs I faithfully follow.  She doesn't annoy me much at all, besides some of the cutesy terms she comes out with. rolleyes She takes great pictures so it doesn't bother me at all.  I'm not the greatest cook so there are definitely times where the pictures come in handy.  I'm sure that if she didn't include them all the time she'd get a TON of stupid questions from rookie cooks like me. kiss  I've never paid enough attention to the measurements in the pictures but now that you've mentioned it it's probably the only thing I'll notice lol.

I actually prefer the below-photo instructions and full recipe later! And I've never noticed the discrepancies but probably will now… sigh. Sometimes her introductions to things piss me off but I think it's more a matter of me being picky than her actually being annoying. She is still a SOMI for now but if her kid takes over the blog a la Daily Garnish I will unsubscribe.

I actually don't mind her blog on the whole (a lot of the recipes aren't relevant to me, but the blog is pretty inoffensive) but for some reason the measurement discrepancies drive me nuts. I guess I'm alone, though, and probably crazy. idontknow

I'll echo the others here and say that hers is one of the food blogs I actually really enjoy.  I appreciate her photography and her writing voice.  I've loved every recipe of hers I've made.  These are two of my favorites:

And since it's just me and my husband, we always have TONS of leftovers high-five

She steals so many of her ideas from other bloggers and passes them off as her own so I stopped reading a long time ago.

she is a somi.  the recipes of hers i've made have been good, she seems totally relatable, and i used to live in iowa so it is fun when she posts about my old haunts.

I dislike her food and am grossed out by the sponsorships she takes. her pictures are pretty, and she seems really nice, but her writing voice makes me cringe. 'natch.

I made the garlic chicken last night, it was pretty good (like anything with that much garlic could be bad).

I like her for the most part. I am big enough to admit that I'm jealous she's full-time blogging, just because I'm desperate to quit my crap job and do something else. And I do think her pictures are gorgeous. I did kind of think she sold her soul when she started that Iowa Farm thing (which, I've never read any of those posts she's done, so I really don't know what they're all about). It just came across as factory farming trying to put a better spin on their image or something.
