THIS! This is exactly the reason why she rubs me the wrong way. She's always writing like this! Everything is so much fun! Yay! All I want to say is: can you just tone it down a little bit? Not everything has to be exclamation points, happy and cheery. She obviously takes on more than she can handle, and then wants to make it look like she's incredibly happy and on top of things all the time.
Also her new glasses? Absolutely ridiculous. I think that if she wasn't a blogger she would never have gone for those, but she feels the need to live up to what her "readers" would want to see.

that's JUST it, man. her facade of perfection totally strips her of any relatability. and if all she ever does is talk about how effin' lovely her whole existence is, and on top of it posts pictures of her wearing tired modcloth dresses with the same damn belts everyday…why does this chick have ANY READERS?! she brings NOTHING to the table. delightfully tacky (her blogging bestie) brings no original content to her blog, but at least her outfits are so horrendous they've full-circled back to amazing (maybe? no? meow?) that i never get tired of hate-following her because she is always good for a larf.

Selective Potential was one of the first fashion blogs I subscribed to back in the day, before I became bitter and jaded about fashion blogging. I thought she seemed real and sincere, and I found her weight loss story inspiring. On the strength of her success (and Jennifer Hudson's, natch), I joined WW myself and ended up losing 30 lbs.
Now her blog is just a big MEH for me. Her writing is SO BORING. Her clothes are SO BORING. She has not one iota of originality. I mean, how hard is it to put on a free dress? The amount of comments on her asinine posts would be shocking if I didn't know that each one of those idiotic commenters also has a stupid fashion blog, and crop dusting dumb "I'm in love with your shoes!" comments across the blogosphere is how they desperately try to increase their own readerships.
Oh, the idiocracy.

When will people realize this chick is not that interesting? At this point I only read her for the guaranteed eyeroll, and to feel better about myself, because at least I can spell, and type more than three sentences in a row without busting out an exclamation point. This. You know she strategically arranged everything on her desk so you could see just how much stuff she gets. It's nauseating. I can't help but think it's somehow karma for always bullshitting with the "OMG My life is so great and perfect and wonderful and my husband rules and Michigan is great!" that she's done over the years. The facade has to crack at some point. I couldn't keep it up that long, that's for sure.

Definitely sounds like splits-ville drama. I can't stand any side of Teekuh but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. All of her tweets & posts lack any mention of Brett, so it could just be speculation. Still, I hope she stops sugar-coating everything in her life. At least then I could respect her, even if I didn't like her.

agreed. no one deserves to go through that. it is purely speculation, though. who knows? she's mentioned work lately so that's not it. i guess we'll wait and see.
