I'm actually pretty okay with this. I like dark denim with wool-be it pencil skirt or trousers and I'm even okay with the blue stripes. But for the love of all that is good and holy, tuck the whole damn thing in!!

And while I like a nude shoe and a peep toe too, if you are wearing wool and denim and long sleeves, go with a more fall-ish choice. A sort of worn in rusty brown leather color would work here, or boots even.

I'm going to ignore that its August 30th. And supposed to be 80+ today.

Yeah, I was in Bloomington this past weekend visiting my BFF and it was 94 degrees.  COME THE FUCK ON, who is wearing wool?!

the outfit is fine because she's basically just wearing something she saw on a jcrew mannequin. they've been doing this same outfit for years and years. the extended shametuck is what i have a problem with (and also the cropped jacket in not flattering on her figure).

The only thing I can think is that the constant shametuck is covering up stomach rolls. I used to do that so that I could have the illusion of a tucked in shirt without the pulling around my love(ly)handles. In this outfit, it makes abowhroeely no sense.

What I find telling is how hard she has to push these posts.

The great bloggers don't even have to mention when they put up a new post. I follow her on twitter and I was able to hear about today's outfit multiple times. She posts, she tweets the link, she tweets her own posting on pinterest (I find posting your own pics on pinterest tacky, but that's another story), and she tweets her link on instagram.

If people were clamoring to see what she was selling, she wouldn't have to mention it so many times. It's a little sad, really.

The shametuck falling out of the back of her denim jacket is hurting my eyeballs.

ugh, what a slob. it looks so lazy and unpolished, and not "downtown cool" or "effortless" or "tomboy glam" or whatever the hell she is trying to pass it off as. if jess is concerned about fupa/stomach rolls: put on spanx, tuck in shirt, blouse out a bit. add belt for additional optical illusions. works fine!

I have stomach rolls, love handles, and a thick waist, and the shametuck makes me look WAY bigger than I already am (I just tried it in front of the mirror as a sartorial experiment, would never leave the house that way). Camouflaging excess weight with volume is 9 times out of 10 a big mistake. For me, it's better to just wear structured items that skim my curves.

Finally had to join after a long time of casual lurking because I. Just. Cannot. with Jessica Quirk anymore.

She really has some great clothes in her closet, yet she makes everything look cheap and unflattering.

First the Good: I feel like this is a good outfit for me to start with because it is not bat-shit insane, a la the polka-dot number. My criticisms are meant to be constructive! The individual pieces of today's outfit are all great, and I'm completely for wearing unexpected combinations. Furthermore, the pencil skirt, cropped jacket, and pumps is a flattering silhouette for her. It has the potential to give off that Mad Men vibe she loves so much, without being so literal. I don't totally hate the shoes. They are a classic style, and they go well with the skirt. However, they would be so much better in an interesting color, even a beige that is not trying to match her skin tone. Navy blue would be great with that yellow skirt. I get the nude-shoes-make-your-legs-look-long thing, but the girl has great legs, she doesn't need to use this trick!

And now the Bad: I'll just skip the half tuck, because that would ruin even the best outfit. Add to that the lack of cohesive accessories or a bag, and it further underscores the often made point that she probably just threw this on for the photo shoot. Give us a break with the "morning coffee run" bullshit! It's been mentioned already, but the denim jacket with the wool skirt is all kinds of WTF, and the striped shirt is way to casual. Delicate gold accessories like a necklace and watch with a fully tucked in silk blouse, maybe even that long sleeved, navy blue one in her recap of last fall's outfits (again with the navy and yellow!) would look really nice. You know, when it is actually Autumn…

Why does she hate compound words so fucking much? I feel like this annoys me much more than the dumb shit she wears.
