I started looking at this blog a few months back and the blogger is pretty and has nice style – but then I noticed how outrageously expensive some of her items are for a new college grad. Curious if anyone knows about her background?

I have been reading Gal Meets Glam for a couple of months. She's pretty and I like her outfits occasionally.

So I'm going to preface the following with yes, I am a jealous hater.

I've been following her on IG and she has been posting all about her wedding and honeymoon. The amount of money spent on her wedding must have been outrageous. It must also be a blogger thing to go to Italy on your honeymoon and drop thousands of dollars on designer clothing. She bought new dresses for every day of the honeymoon, and so far has purchased dior sunglasses, a miu miu bag and moschino shoes (that she has shown, I'm sure there are more purchases to come/be shown)….on top of a honeymoon that looks to have cost more than $5000. Like I said, pure jealousy, but don't these chicks feel a bit ridiculous as a married women to be living/vacationing/buying outfits from their parents money? Same goes for Pink Peonies, who looks like she just went on her European vacation with her husband's family. Also 21.

/end rant.

I've been following her on IG too.

And I've done some research b/c I'm a creep… she definitely married into some serious money. I'm guessing her husband's fam bankroll everything. Her husband is an MBA student, but they live in his parents very swanky San Fran condo (pic on IG). His family founded the company that makes Duraflame logs, among other things. Loaded. He custom designed her engagement ring WITH HIS MOM. I'm sure they live entirely off that wealth, trust fund, etc.

She reminds me a lot of Pink Peonies (pom squad in college, small school, married young, married rich yet distinctly less attractive men than themselves).

That makes sense. I was wondering how a bunch of 21 year olds could afford all that. She also showed a "hand me down" dior bag last week. I can understand how it would be really exciting to marry into a family like that…but I don't know, I guess it would feel meaningless after a while? The "struggle" right now sucks, but I know that one day (soon? maybe) I'll marry a self made man who put himself through medical school instead of marrying into a trust fund.

This is what's wrong with this country. Here we have another taker talking smack about a maker. Don't you understand that these women deserve this lifestyle? They are out there making blog posts and adding value.

I'm glad someone finally posted about her. I've been reading for a long time, and at first her outfits were like c/o Lulu's type shit. But then she got engaged (in college) and planned her wedding (in college) and got a super large ring (from her fiance who is … in college/MBA program/whatever) and I started noticing once she got engaged especially she started getting new designer bags, shoes, clothes, etc. She literally graduated from college in May, her fiance was on the baseball team at their school so he is probably JUST starting his MBA in the fall, so all this spending is ridic. I mean, good for them if they are just swimming in money, but it is so ridic that they are spending all this money on designer shit for her when they just had their wedding and honeymoon and LIKELY don't even have jobs to start when they come back from Italy. MBA is still school after all. And what's she gonna be, a full time blogger? Even that doesn't rake in the serious cash unless you're like, man repeller or something.

Whatev, end rant.

oh also, her husband looks like SUCH a dweeb in all the engagement photos she posts of them (like plaid collared shirt buttoned up super high and tucked into his jeans with a belt… aka my dad wears his shirts like that) but she posted a picture in his baseball uniform once and it was like a complete transformation. suddenly he was pretty hot!

I had to stop following her on IG due to the jealousy/annoyance I was feeling that a 21 year old gets to move to San Francisco and buy all these designer items. She's a very pretty girl but all the makeup she wears makes her look a lot older than she is. Maybe because her husband looks like a kid too.

I agree with everything you all have said – but for some reason, I tend to like her. She seems much more likeable than Rachel of Pink Peonies. Maybe because she's not completely decked out in designer duds? She was wearing Old Navy shorts yesterday on IG.

BUT I hate the trend with style blogs in the past year or two. They just highlight wealthy young women and all the possessions they have; I'm just as guilty as the next person as clicking over to see what I can envy today, but honestly it has started to make me feel so… inadequate. It's taking a toll. I have always had good style, I'm just as stylish as these girls, but for some reason they can buy $2,000 Celine bags at 22 and therefore I'm not as good. It's just frustrating. I find myself coveting much more than I'd like.

Random sidenote: Julia of Gal Meets Glam was an intern this summer at ShopStyle in San Fran, so maybe she's trying to pursue a career?

Also totally agree that her BF if not cute. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I feel kind of bad for beautiful girls with ugly guys – like, nothing about him is sexy…

This is hilarious. I've been reading her for awhile and thinking…this guy looks like a 12-year-old. What does she see in him? Now I understand.

My first hint that something was off about her was in the post "Basics" where she used her graduation gift money to buy a Helmut Lang leather blazer, which she admittedly called a big splurge. I'm pretty sure this is not a common post-graduation buy for most 20-somethings.
